Go somewhere else if you want true value for your metals. If copper even has a slightest green color to it, they say its #2. Wire any size that has been stripped of all plastic and coverings you get nothing for. That should also be #1 copper. there scale is 14 lbs off and they weigh your metal in portions so you will lose 14lbs every time. If your copper does not look new then it is #2 to them. My father has owned a scrap yard in Tennessee my entire life, I've been around this business for over 40 years now. I should have gotten $1185.80 for my metal and only walked out with $700.. I took the time to cut it up and separate everything precisely. I guess they are used to people coming in looking for a quick 20 bucks that pay no attention. But if you have hundreds of pounds of copper i would highly recommend you going elsewhere.

I have been going LKQ Mount Airy or Crazy Rays for years. They have an up to date inventory online, and I have been lucky to get some gems. Only a $3 admission fee, REMEMBER TO CARRY CASH for the admission and soda machine. Recently, their organization has been confusing. Imports, Europeans, GM, Ford, Dodge, etc used to be well organized by vehicle type and brand, not anymore. Finding what my friend and I needed to get was confusing. I counted at least fifteen brands in the same corner of the yard. This is more of an inconvenience or nitpick. The prices for their items has gotten more expensive since 2020, but it's not exactly their fault. More like the market and inflation. There are teams of scavengers, that their job is to take high demand items before anyone else. Again not LKQs fault directly, they are a business at the end of the day. At least for me, they still are cheaper than some new parts. I have a 20 year old Chrysler LH car, Mount Airy is the best junkyard in the DMV area in my opinion and for my car. Hopefully the yard organization and parts prices will get better soon.
The people from this place were extremely helpful and gave me the best pricing in the DMV. They even offered a towing service so I didnt have to call a 3rd party towing company. Sell your junk cars here, you wont regret it.
I have dealt with Ron on difficult items and I have referred others to him as well. He will not sell you an incorrect or inferior part. I understand that he is kind enough to accept returns no matter what the situation. At least I think so, nobody has ever returned anything that I know of and we all have been super happy with everything. Everything as described or better, well packed, shipped fast. There is also Junkyard Ed he was extra helpful in finding the right parts for me a novice regarding car parts. I highly recommend Junkyard Ed and his crew of friendly, helpful employees.

Great folks to work with. I'm just an average Joe who saves my scrap metal, motors, etc, then takes it to Full Circle every once in a long while, and they are very accommodating of my lack of knowledge of metal classifications.
